TAIPEI, TAIWAN, March. 31, 2020 – Technology industry has been considered a male-oriented work field. This month March 8th is the international women’s day on which every country advocates gender equality and holds activities in discussing the rights for working women. WASAI Technology is dedicated to building up a gender-friendly environment, enabling more women’s voice and encouraging opportunities for her self-growth in the technical workplace.
Since establishing in 2015, WASAI Technology has been highly supporting the idea “Women in Tech,” while the peak time for the percentage of female employees was up to over 50%. Now the percentage of women in the office is about 40%, whose professions are in all areas, including software, digital IC design, administration, and sales & marketing.
WASAI CEO Calvin Hung indicates that many excellent women colleagues were professionally outstanding, especially in R&D, according to his observations in the industry for his working experience over a decade. However, female R&D employees are relatively very rare in the technical workplaces in Taiwan; that is actually a shame. Therefore, WASAI Technology started to hire technical talents for interns, new graduate and full-time employees to develop their own talents and professions with providing an equal hiring opportunity and workplace for gender diversity from the initial stage. With this idea, we hire a higher percentage of R&D female talents, not limited to the stereotype of male-oriented technology work fields. In this way, outstanding talents will not be confined to their biological biases for their career developments.
WASAI Technology is a young and passionate start-up company. We hope to set ourselves as a model to provide a gender-friendly environment to eliminate biases and to avoid prejudiced ideas.
