Connected Device Challenges
TAIPEI, TAIWAN, Jul. 31, 2019 – The applications of connected devices is raising and the amount of data they produce is growing exponentially. A research provided by SEAGATE Technology predict that there are just 12ZB data in the world in 2017, and the data will expend to 163ZB in 2025. The need for scale, throughput, compute efficiency will be the challenges that data centers need to be faced.
Therefore, High-performance computing (HPC) is having its place to deal with the data and solve the problems. HPC cluster is a set of linked computers that use parallel processing to achieve higher computing power than it could be achieved using just one of the computers in the cluster. Although HPC cluster provides high performance with fast calculations, the high price to a set of HPC cluster and the power cost might be a problem.
By alternating FPGA power, compute capability, energy efficiency, and adaptability will improve HPC performance to much higher level.
